This is our chance to come together as a team, contributing to the common good while embodying the core values that guide us. By participating in this campaign, you help fund local programs and initiatives that have a lasting impact on our neighbors, friends and family. Your donations can ensure that more people have access to the support they need to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. For example, one in 10 people experience food insecurity, and one in six are children. Your dollars can support organizations that feed people in your hometown. Your generosity will not only make a difference to those in need but also enhance the well-being of our entire community. 

This year, our United Way campaign includes colleagues who work at LVHN locations in the Lehigh Valley, Pocono, Carbon and Dickson City. We are partnering with United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Pocono Mountains United Way. LVH–Schuylkill, LVH­–Hazleton and HNL Lab Medicine will support the United Way through separate campaigns.

The theme of LVHN's campaign is “United for Our Community.” It's all about uniting for the communities we serve. To be successful, we need your support. All administrative fees have been waived again this year, and 100% of your donation will benefit the United Way or the designee of your choice. 

Evergreen option automatically renews your gift next year

The evergreen option will continue this year. Colleagues who contribute have their gifts through the portal “evergreen,” meaning the gift will automatically renew in the years to come. There is nothing more to do unless you want to increase, stop or change your gift. Please note this applies to payroll deduction donations only. 

This means your payroll deduction donation will roll over each year unless you sign into the portal to change the amount you would like to contribute or to stop the deductions effective Dec. 31, 2024.

How to donate in the Lehigh Valley, Carbon, Pocono and Dickson City 

Colleagues can access the United Way portal through your SSO toolbar starting today. If this is your first time donating through the portal, you will need to set up your profile. If you donated during the last campaign through the portal, open your donation profile and make any changes to your contribution amount for the 2024 campaign. Your donation amount must be at least $25 to donate through the portal. Donations made through the LVHN portal will go to the region and/or services you designate.

Imagine what your donation could do

Are you curious about the impact of United Way in our community? Here’s how our donation dollars add up:

• Over the past year, United Way invested $24,400,238 into the community and served approximately 175,000 people in over 100 programs and services.
• 4,927 seniors have been connected to needed resources through United Way-supported programs.
• 40,000 students and families are served through United Way education programs.

Every dollar counts. For just $2 a week, you can make a difference. Here's how:

• $2 per week provides a month of food for a family.
• $10 per week keeps a child learning over the summer so they start school on track.
• $25 per week provides a month of housing to a family at risk of homelessness.

Regardless of the amount, all donations are greatly appreciated, even one dollar per payroll period helps. Your gift stays in your community and supports the vital services local residents need most. 

Donation options that support LVHN

Colleagues are welcome to donate to LVHN funds and health institutes. Options include:

• Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital
• Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute 
• Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute
• The Lehigh Valley Hospice Fund
• LVHN’s Camp Red Jacket
• LVHN’s President’s Strategic Fund
• LVHN’s Hackerman-Patz House
• LVHN Colleague Relief Fund
• Lehigh Valley Health Network – Neurology

In addition to choices listed in the portal, you have the option to donate to your local LVHN hospital, such as the LVH–Pocono Fund. If there is an entity of LVHN that you don’t see listed but would like to support, choose the write-in option and complete the steps to donate. 

Be entered to win prizes for donating

By donating, or increasing your current donation, you will be automatically entered to win one of many exciting prizes. These include:

• One extra PTO day for five individuals
• A reserved parking spot at the following locations for one year: LVH–Cedar Crest, LVH–Muhlenberg and LVH–Pocono
• Health and wellness giveaways
• Passes to the Da Vinci Science Center
• Gift cards

Please note one individual cannot win more than one extra PTO day.
